Age labels are a rough guess, and every brand guesses differently. Height is the number that holds up. Every listing shows both, so measure once and shop by the centimetre.

How to measure

Height

Shoes off, back against a wall, heels together. Rest a book flat on the head, mark the wall, and measure down to the floor.

Chest

Around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms. Keep the tape level and loose enough to slip a finger under.

Waist

Around the natural waist, just above the belly button. Do not pull the tape tight.

Foot

Stand them on paper, heel against a wall. Mark the longest toe and measure. Do both feet and go with the longer one.

Between sizes? Go up.

They will wear it for longer. Outerwear in particular is cut with room for layers underneath.
